I bought a used XC90 a year ago and its been doing great. I dropped it off to have it inspected and when I picked it up, suddenly the gear stick won't stay in Drive. It just flops over to manual.
It was fine before I dropped it off but the mechanic swears that it was that way from the moment he sat in it. Was it ready to do this all along or is the guy lying to me and they did something?
Is the mechanic lying?

There is a plastic part my service advisor called "the claw" that can break on the part under the bezel. Proving they did it and getting them to fix it is unlikely. The part is not that expensive from Volvo, putting it on I'm not sure how hard/labor hours it might be. Should not be too expensive to fix. June
