I happen to have a cylinder head off a white block, a 1998 B5244S , and I can’t find the crank clearance mark,
No worries, I will sort that out with the other marks as needed, but in turning the engine around I note the following
At any given rotation there are two cylinders close to the top of the stroke, and the clearance span is about 3-4 crank teeth at most.
The most clearance possible is when the two highest cylinders reside about 1 cm below the level of the head at most.
