2006 V50 T5

Post by Aaron728 »

Bought this car in March. Been through 3 batteries and changed the alternator. Still having the same issue.

I'll be riding down the road and I'll get a message that the power/electrical system needs urgent service. My power steering stops working. If I keep going, the electrical system dies, but the engine keeps running (its running but I cant give it any gas or use any electrical)

No codes. No service engine light.

Replace the batter and it works right for about 2 weeks. It worked good for about a month when I changed the alternator. Sometimes, when the messages pop up, they will just go away a few seconds later.

I have cleaned all my cable connections. Checked the fuses. My fuse box cover is a replacement, so I have no Diagram. But, I'm reasonable sure that the fuses and relays are okay.

Any ideas?

Update

Drove the car last night and it died on me. This time when I got it back (disconnected and reconnected the battery) it had codes.

P0700: Transmission Control System Malfunction
P0562: System Voltage Low (from the transmission)

Further update. Replacing the alternator AGAIN. I'm only getting 6.3 volts output.
