Shouldn't the 03 S80 have the same chassis as the XC70? The S80 seems to have a lot of room compared to the 98 S80 T5 especially in the rear. In terms of comfort - P80, (P2 then P1 but not by much) as they both have areas for improvement.

The '03 S80 is a P2. Same platform as a 2000–2006 XC70.
Thanks, I thought so. It's been awhile since I owned the 98 S70 T5, do you think the S80 is smaller in interior space then the P80?RickHaleParker wrote: ↑06 Jul 2020, 00:51The '03 S80 is a P2. Same platform as a 2000–2006 XC70.
S80
P2: 1998–2005 (1st generation)
P3: 2006–2016 (2nd generation)
V70
P80: 1996–1999 (1st generation)
P2: 2000–2006 (2nd generation)
P3: 2007–2016 (3rd generation)
Cool, so I'm not the only one! The seats in my brother's S60 are like brand new, but they aren't nearly as comfortable as my P80 seats. Although I'll say, the P2 XC90 seats are awesome.
I've never been inside an S80, i'm just going off of various V70 variants.
P80 is a mid-size platform. P2 is a full-size platform. I was picking a S80 the other day and the front row seating looked like more space the my P80 C70 but I did not measure it. Could it be that the S80 has less front row space then you expect?

I can understand the lack of thigh support. Otherwise, my dad and I both agree, on road trips the XC90 seats are by far our favorite.
