Small Block in 1984 240dl

I need help. What would i do to fit a small block 350 or just a small v8 into my 1984 Volvo 240DL.

it has been done, but it's not something that you just drop in. There's a lot of fab neccessary. Would this be your first engine swap? Would you be doing it yourself?

it is my first but i have my dad who is an ase master certified mechanic so i mean he would know what to do

The conversion is fairly straight forward, take a look at my website for some ideas. On the 240 small block Chev conversion there is an excellent book written by Jags That Run http://www.jagsthatrun.com/Pages/Volvo_200_V-8.html but the book should be available through a number of sources.

Not to steer you away from this forum because Matthews site is great but there is a V8 Volvo forum at http://www.brickboard.com/V8/ that has many very experienced contributors

Good luck with your conversion, I know mine has been well worth the work and the costs.

where can i find a conversion kit for the v8 conversion?

There is no kit per-say, but if you follow the detailed instructions in the Jags-that-run book you can easily perform the conversion yourself. As long as you have moderate mechanical ability.
