I'd replace the axle bolt first before any further diagnostic. This item https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CG ... UTF8&psc=1

It's interesting. If you can have someone turning the steering just like in the beginning of the video, just a little bit left-right, perhaps with the engine off so you can communicate, put your hand maybe on the springs - careful not to get it trapped by the wheel, or on some other parts like the tie rods. control arms and even on the top strut inside the engine bay. See if you 'feel' that knocking on any parts. For the noise, it sounds a little unusual to m. I also see the control arm seems to be moving quite a bit, how do the bushings look with the wheel lifted ? But it doesn't sound like the CA hitting, to me

I think it is the control arm, I think one of the bolts is not tight. I replaced them in January and a few weeks ago started the clicking. I assumed it to be coming from the axle since the clamp on the boot broke and I lost grease. I refilled the boot and reclamped until I got the new axles and the clicking just wouldn't stop. The control arms aren't great quality from beck. Later on this afternoon I'm going to pull the tire off and see where to go from here. This also happened today on my way home from work. I have an 8 mile commute- this could have gotten ugly fast. I'll update tonight.

It's fixed. Control arm was not as tight as it should have been. I put that on in January and I'm guessing it wasn't torqued correctly. It did not tighten much at all but made all the difference, now no noise at all. I'm thrilled I threw a bunch of money and my weekends at this for the past couple of weeks but it's back to running good and not making noise. Thanks all for your help, I really appreciate it.
