You said you wanted to reset the SERVICE light. You already have an OBDII bluetooth. For $2 it seems like you would be willing to install "850 OBD-II" app, then test if your existing OBDII bluetooth tool will work with "850 OBD-II" app to reset the SERVICE light. If it does, then you'll also be able to use "850 OBD-II" to read/clear DTCs for ABS, SRS, automatic transmission, Motronic 4.4 ECM, etc, and you'll be able to view some of those ECUs' live data (that is *not* visible via Torque's live display of standard OBDII data).

Thanks. I will give it a try.

- For 1998 S70 V70, I cut a small piece of black electrical tape, maybe 1/2" x 1/2" and cover the light.
- You won't even notice the black tape.
- Don't waste time with any other methods.
- Electrical tape trick takes 30 sec and you move on...

Ha Ha! I would notice. I'm a bit obsessive about things working on my cars. For some reason bulbs, switches really get me. I would look at that piece of tape every time I started the car. Thanks though.

Yeah, I'm all for (effective) ghetto fixes for the most part but not even I could stomach a piece of tape on the cluster.

For a 1998 Volvo, 850 OBD-II is more advanced then Torque Pro. If you pass it up. You will to be waiting until you turn to dust.

Break off a piece of egg crate grill and superglue it to the plastic. No ugly tape

850 OBD-II worked great. Service light reset. Lots of other good things in the app. Thanks.

Hey I just ordered an OTC service and Oil light reset tool from a guy on eBay. He says the 1998 V70 is listed in the manual. That’s what I have. Anyhow, this tool is plentiful on eBay for $75-150 range. When I get mine, I’ll let you know how it goes for me.
