Unscrew the oil filter cover about one turn wait 10 sec or so then unscrew all the way. There is a drain valve for oil filter housing that lifting oil filter allows to open. If you unscrew it hastily the oil may run out so the 10 sec wait is to allow some oil to run out. Leave the cap and oil filter there while you drain oil from pan. It is best to get a new aluminum or copper seal washer but one re-use if you turn it over is usually OK. The drain plug seals can be found on Amazon. They are 18mm ID and 22mm OD. If you buy the $15 range one with 3-4 hundred washers you will et seals for drain plug, trans drain plug, and other seal washers for that car, motorcylces, ATV, etc, etc.
