Inner front left CV Joint replacement kit? XC90, 2003, 2.5T AWD

Post by JoqJoSain »

Hello, i have a XC90 2003 2.5T AWD and i'm looking for a CV Joint for the inner front left side.

I've looked in many web-shops but everyone say there isn't a suitable one for me.

I cannot even find a OEM number for the item.

Some shops say that you have to replace the entire CV Axle, due to no OEM number available.

Help please.

I believe the metal components are not sold separately. Try to ask on this UK forum perhaps for a place to source a quality aftermarket replacement for the whole axle https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=19

New GKN axles are about US $300-350.

You can always try your local junk yard in Finland...

I ordered a "new" cv-axle.

First time changing one, i wonder is there a need to add front differential or gear-box oil after i replace the cv-axle?

In other words, when i remove the cv-axle is there going to be leaking oil?

Re Axle Job...
- ATF only leaks out of P80 cars bc it is open design.
- For P2, the design is different, there is a cup seal, so when you remove the axle, no ATF will leak.
