What engine oil brand to use? Is "Volvo" engine oil better for Volvos than other brands?

We really need a FYI thread about oils. Did not find it via search function.
Now to my question, can you, people, suggest the most optimal oil brand?

I’m a big fan of Mobil1 “European car formula”, but I don’t have a turbo, so probably a wide variety of oil would work fine.

You mean turbo charged cars require a different oil that naturally aspirated ones?

Generally....turbo engines should use full synthetic oil because of a turbo(it will last longer and will have better lubrication in all conditions).
Non-turbo can use regular oil,semi-synth or full synthetic...whatever you can afford and depending on your climate and driving habits.

The most important thing is that you replace it regularly along with quality oil filter.That's the main key for engine durability.

Everyone seems to be particular about their oils, but the reality a lot won't admit is that any modern name-brand synthetic oil is going to do just fine in your engine. It's likely that other stuff is going to break on your car or engine prior to the oil itself truly being a factor.

Personally, I use Liqui Moly Synthoil 5W-40. Been using it for years. High quality stuff, done many 7500 mile changes with several oil analysis tests run and good wear numbers. I get it for a decent price on FCP Euro.

I have also used Mobil 1 10W-40 High Mileage for a couple 10,000 mile changes with no issues and good numbers.

About to hit 300,000 miles.
