Today I saw a very tidy 240 wagon, maybe late 80s / early 90s(?). Silver, very good condition, completely stock, original hubcaps, Yakima racks, little round foglights on the bumper. You see them out there once in a while.

Keep an eye out for me if you see one for sale - my family is up there in MT and I have a Neon I need to return to my mom one of these days. I'd like to drive a 240 back, manual wagon only though - because I already have one of everything else! :)

Ooo, hard to find one of those. I tried hard back in the early 90s when I bought my '84.

There's a woman a block away with a whole collection of ratty 240s. She's like a cat lady but with Volvos.

I saw one parked near an abandoned complex on Route 79 near Ithaca last night. Pretty blue.

The Cornell IC crowd is pretty Volvo heavy..I bought my first Volvo, a 145 , in Ithaca....1987?

Geneva Foreign Sports is still up and running in upstate isn’t it?

We used to covet their Volvo’s when we were broke graduate students down the lake at Cornell. I think the moved from route 20 up to a big complex on Route14?

Brumstead in Ithaca is alive and doing well , drove by him the other day

Geneva Foreign Sports is indeed alive and well (and much larger) on NY Route 14, just south of exit 43 off I-90 in Geneva. No 240s on the lot anymore, but they have at least one mechanic old enough to have been trained on 240s. They've drooled on my car, but are nice enough to wipe it off afterwards.

The later 245s look so solid and practical to me. Just load everything you need and drive across the country.

Schmearvwheel drive. Ok with a standard and a good set of four snows but I’ve got a good affection for FWD cars now in four season climates. Just stay away from No-season tires
