Guys,
Does replacing master switch needs the dealership to reprogram it?
my driver side window stopped working, also the power lock and the side mirror for the same door, everything else works for the rest of the windows.
One garage showed when plugging power directly into the connector, they can move the Window up and down, and can move the side mirror...so motors and regulator (which they replaced work)
What controls the power lock, power window and the side mirror? I bought another master switch off of ebay for $80 and all lights came on but still the driver's side wouldn't work, passenger and rear windows both work.
I am trying to determine if I have another bad switch and just my luck the same driver button doesn't work (which i doubt it) or does the newer switch need programming at the dealer?
any tips?

Do you have VIDA and a DiCE? They would make troubleshooting a lot easier.
The module in the drivers door (Drivers Door Module, DDM) controls the window and the mirror and the puddle light directly, which is how your mechanic can apply voltage and move the window. In the passenger door, there is the Passenger Door Module PDM, which controls the passenger door mirror and puddle light directly. The window and mirror can either be activated by the local switches on the DDM, or via digital command over the CAN Bus. When you operate the passenger window and mirror from the drivers door, the signal is sent via the CAN bus, and the PDM actually closes the relay to move the mirror/window.
You can also connect to the DDM and PDM via VIDA and send commands to raise/lower windows, move mirrors, etc. You can also see the status of the switches in the DDM and PDM. With all this visibility, you should be able to see what is working and what is not working.
It's through the CAN bus that the seats and mirrors get reset when you unlock the car. The key talks to the Upper Electronic Module (UEM), and the UEM sends commands to the DDM, PDM, and seat module to move to the stored locations.
Likewise, the DDM and PDM also control the locking system. The DDM gets an electrical signal from the keyswitch, or a CAN bus signal from the UEM when you press your unlock button, and the DDM / PDM apply power to the lock or unlock solenoid accordingly.
I hope this information help you to successfully troubleshoot your issue!

Thank you Roger for the amazing info, the mechanic said he couldn't see the side mirror through his software but again he doesn't have the subscription to program it either.
I am trying to see if I should buy another used DDM or send it my existing one to the dealer for software download.
My research shows a DDM needs programming by VIDA but I can't explain why putting a new used switch makes the passenger window and its mirror , both rear windows work?
Right now I am torn between buying another used switch or take it to the dealer and ask them to program and live through the sale pitch of a new DDM from them
