I'll look into this tomorrow. Foggydog has PM'd me his address so I can get an estimate. I will try to find a company that someone told me about that ships direct to Montana from Calgary and then uses USPS from there. Supposedly 50% of normal cost according to the guy who told me about it and uses it regularly with his business.

Nivo's have made it to the border, Proctology exam is likely underway. Looks like the boots mentioned in the repair thread are close to NLA, one online Dealer says national backorder with 3-6 week availability, but a big dealer complex in DC said over the phone they think the part number is headed for the "retired" list. The adventure continues.

Nivos made the border crossing intact, I just now got back to Delaware and started the boot repair.
The bottom bushing is reluctant so far. I am convinced I can outlast its resistance, and I'll look for a boot workaround.

I recall it took a sharp whack with a hammer to break it loose. Obviously taking care not to bend the shaft. A large pair of pipe pliers/wrench would also help.

It's official, the boots, 1387105, are no longer available. I had placed an order with Tasca and they just cancelled it and issued a refund. Skanix claims to have them over there, but shipping is 125 Euros.
