Hey Gang,
I've had an ongoing issue on this car for a while where it seems to be "stuttering" on highway speeds of about 95km/h, feeling like it would de-decelerate then quickly accelerate back up in a fraction of a second. Difficult to tell, even my wife hasn't noticed this issue. Finally, I had a "Reduced Engine Performance" message show up last week, a couple days in a row, on a cold start only. It felt ETM-related as the RPM's were really hunting. Upon restart message cleared and I got normal idle RPM. Finally had a chance to plug in my DiCE this week and I'm reading two codes:
ECM-130A Air Leakage Intake. Faulty Signal
ECM-91B7 Throttle Position (TP). Faulty Position
PCV Glove test passes with flying colours. Battery is about 6 years old- I'm going to order a replacement. I'm going to try cleaning/inspecting my MAF first. I had the throttle body cleaned in 2018 but never examined it myself. Is it possible I might actually have a dying ETM? I've heard it's rare on a 2004 XC70. Does the Xemodex ETM troubleshooting chart apply to my year of vehicle? It looks like a great place to start in order to isolate the harness as a potential culprit. I read something about troubleshooting the ETM/MAF using VIDA's readout of the outputs. Does 14kg/hr sound right for the MAF? Might go in that direction too when I get some time.
Any direction/pointers you guys can give me would be great. I'm decent at troubleshooting electrical so I can work with that and DiCE, but this is definitely one of the more complicated issues I've dealt with on the vehicle. Thanks!

Much of my time during the job is spent hauling things up and down the stairs to the basement or in and out of the storage shed, or running back downstairs when I realize I need something else,or taking a break from standing out in the sun,or using flashlights or work lamps when it gets dark.

290k kms? It does it only at highway speeds? May try to reach and push the wires a little into the tb connector.
I wonder if a simple vacuum would act only at speed. I believe the turbo engines may have a few places where a pipe could crack/split
While there, have a look under the dash at the CEM with a flash light, look for dry or wet traces of water. May also get a used or new Bosch ignition coil and keep it at hand just in case, also inspect the spark plugs. No need to replace all coils, just a faulty one when it happens

It’s the Bosch Eletronuc Throttle Assembly ETA on the P2s and it’s much better than the Italian Job.
And, best part, you don’t have the software shenanigans of matching software on throttle and ETM as I understand.
