I returned the CTS (Duralast) to AutoZone since I could not find a more compatible one in town. I will have to order one tomorrow from the Lower-48.

I decided to move the car out of the garage to the drive way till I get the ordered part. I Put the thermostat top back, crewed the two bolt, jacked the car down since I had drained the coolant when I was draining the coolant. Went in the car to start it; it was dead. Thought I was dreaming. Tried it two more times; no dashboard lights either. Opened the door to get out, no dome light. This is another headache to troubleshoot. The only difference now is, no coolant and no CTS. Very strange!

huh, so maybe if it has a short....the short drains the battery,
You can find the fuse that provides v to the temp sensor and pull it, see if the v drain disappears.
Connect your meter between the battery and + wire.

Actually, the TSensor was out of the car to be returned. A very strange situation. The battery voltage was 4.5V. I took it out and just gave it a "boost" charge. I'll drive the car out and check it out by tonight to see if it is drained again.

Yep, very odd.
I was going to give it a trickle charging but decided to give it a 10A Boost charge. It's done now and am going to put it in the XC. Tonight, I'll open the door so check the dome light. If fine, I'll leave it till morning and if not fine, I'll trouble shoot the issue.

More than twenty-four hours now. Went outside, all is fine. The dome lights were fine, the dash lights were as bright as ever, no dimining and the car started just fine. Now my fear is the unknown. Why it ever happened and could happen if I were to drive the car somewhere. It's my spare 01XC for when am working on the main 01XC or wifey's van. I think I'll leave it alone and keep starting it once in a while till winter sets in when I remove the battery.

Nope I did not troubleshoot any issues. It all scares me because the issue "just went away".
The car started with no issue, after sitting outside for more than twenty-four hours.

A low battery in these cars will cause all kinds of weirdness. In cold country , replacing it every 5 years is prudent.

If the car sits for more than a week, get a one amp trickle charge and plug it in, too.
