Re: There are only crickets in here...
Sorry to hear, BB. A couple of my son's (10 year olds) friends have gotten it recently. Cancelled 11th birthday this weekend for one, poor kid.

Thanks guys! Bummer about the B Day party!
I needed to go do just something....went out to the garage and tinkered for an hour and a half - cleaned up the 850 dash, separated a pile of steel and alum scrap in the alley... and I just had to come in and lay on the couch. Exhausted. It’s so weird.

Thanks gents. The health dept has impressed me with the extensive tracing interview, and then two different people have called to just check on symptoms and how you're doing.
If it's useful anecdotal information, mine started as a runny nose, very annoying with a mask. I assumed maybe related to my food allergies and slacking off on discipline. Then I had a slight cough, no big deal. As the week moved on, a nagging cough, more in the throat and chest. Then I got a painful sore throat - very hard to swallow. Glands on your neck swollen and painful. "Great, I'm getting a bad cold," thought I. I rarely get sick.
Two days of that, and I decided to drop by the doc's office walk-in clinic. Big STOP sign on the door - "If you have ANY of these symptoms, DO NOT come in, call this number. Busy signal for a half hour. On hold for a half hour. They take your info down, put you on the schedule. I was thinking STREP throat. "Please wait in your car, we will call you." That was a half day exercise - lean the seat back, take a nap, listen to NPR. I saw several people in cars in the parking lot.
So you drive behind the clinic to a big trailer and tent, med people in gowns and face shields. "STREP would be pointless, you need a Covid test, is that acceptable?" Yes, OK.
3 days to hear back - it’s positive.
After the sore throat, it really turned into a bad head cold. Stuffed up sinuses and ears, thick thick head, kind of woozy dizzy. Careful getting up or moving too fast. Headache from those little muscles pulling at the back of your skull. VERY tired, slept till 11. The garage episode and the couch. My son told me you essentially have a form of pneumonia - great! Every cough kind of freaks you out then.
So you get a "pulse oximeter" at Walgreens for $50, which is the little gadget they put on the end of your finger at the docs office. Reads your blood oxygen level. It shouldn't go below 90%, and it shouldn't drop suddenly. If so, head for emergency, don't mess around. You monitor your temp with a forehead thermometer and log it every day - neither of us have ever run a temp. so that's good.
Then it's just take it easy, drink a lot of water, Tylenol or aspirin if you need it, rest, stay in the house. Oh boy. But we're doing well compared to many people with other health issues, so we feel very fortunate. Nana is a block away and needs to get tested today. Fingers crossed there, she's in her 80s.
Only issue now is running out of the salt pork and then the oranges, so maybe we'll get scurvy. ARRGH! Black Bart hates the scurvy!
Feeling better today, trying to get some things done at the computer. We're cleaning the house and doing some laundry. And there's BEISBOL tonight, yay.

My dentist had Covid in March. He was in bed for 3 weeks. His wife brought him food in a separate room. He was still coughing 2 months later. Hope I have cheered you up! Take care and rest.

The county health dept calls me every day to check on how you're feeling, and symptoms. Kinda nice, although it's probably for their stats.
