When I was replacing my spark plugs yesterday, I opened up the coil cover and saw that one of the ignition coil harness clips had been cracked previously by someone working on the car so that it does not snap into place, but rather was just pressed firmly up against the coil and staying there with pressure. In replacing the other spark plugs, I jarred the connector loose. I don't want it to come loose while driving (have been driving without the cover in case it comes loose the past day). Has anyone here done any workarounds to affix a damaged coil harness clip firmly to the coil such as zip ties or similar? Will they stand up? Or will it be necessary to splice in another coil harness connector?
On a side note I just took my car in for the second alignment / balance with Tires Plus in the past week. Long story short, first time around I got two tires replaced and got a lot of shaking at speed on the highway after I had them (evidently) mounted, balanced and aligned. So I took it to another location and they aligned and balanced everything correctly - no shimmies (except for three motor mounts at acceleration that will need to be replaced). Interestingly enough the first shop did a crap job at aligning the car and sent me out on the road. The last shop did a great job. They said that three wheels were out of balance and that the entire car was out of alignment. That being said after inspecting the car, they recommended an air filter change, cabin air filter replacement, and transmission service at the counter before I left - and laughably I had already replaced all three (and done two drain fills of the trans) within the month. I think I'm going to write a letter to corporate, since I usually get my tires at Firestone or TiresPlus and I felt like I've gotten poor work done and unethical upselling. Anyway, I digress.
Any help on the coil harness clip would be great.

About the tire issue - I always thought it was advisable to replace all 4 tires when the vehicle is AWD to prevent strain on the drivetrain. Not sure if this has anything to do with the issues you described.

No - the tires were replaced to the exact same model, specification and type. They were only a few thousand miles (probably close to 5k) in age. Instead of replacing only the popped front right tire, I replaced both of the front tires at the same time and transferred the unevenly worn one to a full size spare in the rear of the car. Interestingly, from what I understand, they only balanced the new tire when I replaced it, and none of the others. Now that would have been an appreciated up-sell had they offered that. I paid for an alignment as well - you would think they would balance the tires at time of an alignment, but the services provided separately.

tose connectors are very fragile because of the heat, grab some spare connectors from the junkyard if they are not all broken, you dont need to cut/splice wires just replace the connector. they dont come loose, after changing all of mine i broke one again.

Get a set of Pin extractors and change the broken plastic piece. The hardest part is figuring out which extractor to use. A loupe come in handy. Let one see how the connector is put together and what is holding the pins in.
The connector for the coil packs use one of the pin extractors that looks like a two tine fork. You push the extractor in the mating side. That pushes the retaining clips out so one can pull the wire and terminal out the other side.
Before you take the connector apart. Take a picture so you will have a record of which wire goes where. When your making the change do one wire at a time. The picture is in case you flub up.

RickHaleParker -thanks for the advice. I'm headed to pick a part to grab a few coil connectors to figure out how they come apart and go together this weekend. I'll learn through trial and error, I'm sure. For now, I'll leave the coil cover off in case something comes loose and I need to reattach.
