I use a jensen 150 W inverter, one of the better ones ive had. Only issue is that under full load (AC, 150 W, Lights, Full Blast) it can trigger a low voltage light, although that may have been due to a corroded battery terminal.

I've gotten lucky and all the volvos i purchased were full leather. The last one was a smokers nest but its going to be parts soon for the turbo project, and maybe learning how to do a manual ECU tune for me7.

Audio wise, the best ive experienced was in an s70 2.3 T from 99. All the bells and whistles, although my NA's still have decent sound.

Im a V70 man at heart, but the s70's have come by at far too good a price to pass up. Collectively i think ive put about 1200 cad for the 3 s70's, all have oem cats, run and drive, no major check engine ligths. The latest one is an m56 so thats fun.

On the topic of socket shorting, it is very very unlikely. Most of the larger inverters ive used have a built in fuse (even a cheaper company like besttek), and then there is a secondary fuse in the engine bay. I think we shorted a terminal in a ford transit we took on a long haul journey and it simply blew the socket fuse. A much greater worry would be the wiring on the led's you used, did you use liquid electrical tape and fuse the lines?

Why did you want to swap out of a power chair? I found myself dropping to an awkward position while trying to adjust tilt and how far forward/backward it goes.

Yes I am a Volvo wagon dude at heart. I'd totally take a 960 wagon/v90 if I found one at a good price. My passion has moved from P80 to P90 (8/7 series to 9 series). My 98 XC will be mainly a toy (offroader and racer) when I get the rack and engine (broken 2.4) both replaced. I love the AWD and turbo (will be better than the 2.4/13G with that 2.3/16G combo). But I'm stuck on the amazing luxury of this RWD whiteblock. This will stay my daily driver. One thing that would be cool is to put the sv90 manual transmission from Europe in this car.

Ah yes I think having no fuse was my issue. I bought a cheap Chinese single outlet inverter with the hinge and no fuse. It fried 3 batteries. I removed it and didn't have anymore battery issues.

I didn't use 'liquid electric tape'. 'Fuse the lines'? I used butt splices and female/male connectors too connect all wires. I hate soldering wires. I used electrical tape to cover the connected connectors.

In terms of doing what I want with the chair, manually making it move, I like that. Ever since I bought my 960, the front pass seat has been frozen. Cutting the corroded wire harness off and rewiring didn't work. I even used power from another fuse slot and that didn't work. The STOP button wasn't engaged either. But I like using manual levers to adjust my seat. Funny thing I removed that seat, then my right driver seat track froze about 1 hour later. I have the perfect comfort setting (including tilt down) on my XC's manual pass seat. I don't like the inconvenience of electric seats. That's probably the opposite of how most people feel.

Personally, I think the lighting is a bit much. Some warmish LEDs would be OK, but that 5000K (what it looks like) is way too harsh. You planning on doing surgery in there? The underhood stuff I see just blinding me, instead of actually shining light on what I would want to see.

All the lighting is either 6000K or 6500K. I accidentally bumped one LED in rear right with handlebar of 20" Hyper 36v electric bike. The color reduced to about 4500K instantly. The underhood lighting really does light up the bay well and the only lights that MIGHT bug me are the 2 strips on the firewall.

The PA system is for my safety against the domestic terrorists. In better terms, a domestic terrorist is one that blocks roads for purpose of so-called 'peaceful protesting', which is really impeding to cause chaos and use violence. Domestic terrorists are ones that impede, hurt, destroy, damage, kill during their 'protests'. If I happen to come across violent protesters blocking the road, I will use the PA system to warn them to move so I can travel freely. I'm spending this $45 for my safety (don't have to lower my windows) and their safety (they chose the unsafe method by illegally being a pedestrian on the road).

Wow there, that escalated a bit quickly. Liquid electrical tape is like a kind of coating you put on wires or other connections that will seal far better then normal electrical tape. I would crimp on connectors if i were you, butt splicing is an okay solution but one wrong pull could dislodge it. If you still have the wiring from your last car then a lot of those connectors can be reused.

In terms of the seat seizing, i sometimes have to move my power seat back then forward to get it to move forward. It seems that once the motor starts to spin it can then spin in the other direction in the seat. Aside from that, its a huge quality of life improvement for driving.

Also, realistically, yelling at people through a PA does not achieve anything more then adding to the noise and gaining attention. 9/10 when i drive my wagon the police will barely notice if im above the limit by a bit as they assume its some older folk (common car for them in my area).

The Volvo glass is neither smash nor tree proof (why would it be? ask me how i know so it wont help. If you do fit a PA id say play out some turbo sounds while accelerating. The car might not be that fast but all that matters is how fast you feel you are going.

Thank you for that information. Sounds like liquid ET is kinda like heat activated shrinkwrap. I did attempt to move it back and forth, but did not unfreeze the right track. The left one on my driver seat hasn't frozen yet. Ah yes wagons are they way to go. Once I get that 16g turbo on, I'm GONE ahahahahahaha. I'm sure it's not smash proof considering your sad little workhorse s70 and I've actually seen a v70 on FaceBook of the roof caved in. So sad! Just make s70 into a pickup truck, eh?
