Found following Axle Ping description at the IPD parts website:

The sound tends to be more of a clank or clunk sound but the sound can potentially echo down the axles some situations and make a more harmonic sound, hence the "ping" moniker.

Axle ping is most apparent when you shift the car from reverse to drive and back again with your foot on the brake. There will be a noticeable clank noise upon the shift in directional load against the drive train. This is easier to produce on automatic models but the same applies to manual transmission models.

I replaced front axle screws and the "axle ping" is gone.
FWIW: VIDA has two torques specs for each type of screws, i.e, with cone and without. Without cone screw is 2 stage torque, 35Nm and then 90º stretch. With cone, it is straight 50Nm.

A recent look at the 2013A XC90 profile in VIDA, it shows the Service Schedule II for 150,000 miles. I'm on track!

It lists Coupler - the belt connecting alternator and decoupler pulley as a serviceable item. Can it wait another 50,000 miles? What about the decoupler pulley, and the alternator?

Also, what to look for before refreshing the various engine mount, which one fails?

For my 2008 LR2 the Alternator Over Drive Pulley had failed prior to 150,000 miles.

When it failed it stopped the Alternator from Freewheeling but it didn't have any noticeable detrimental effect.

I replaced it as preventative maintenance but I didn't know that it had failed until I removed it.

I didn't replace the belt, I only replaced the Overdrive Pulley.

I think if you let it go long enough with the Freewheel function not working then you run the risk of the bolt that holds the pulley for the READ side backing out and the Alternator stops charging.

Let us know what you decide to do.

For my 2010 S80 the Alternator had been replaced some time before I bought it so I haven't changed that pulley or coupler (Maybe at 200,000 miles)

A recent experience with our 2001 V70XC intermittent voltage raised the awareness that the generator OAP pulley too has limited life - CEM:0C01. A refreshed alternator may be good for few more years.

The recent snow storm was a lesson. The windshield wipers without fully working washer is unsafe. The pressure valve failed. Any coloration from the fluid leaking will be apparent around bulkhead and exhaust manifold heat shield -- wetness may not be present.

Seasonal maintenance of replacing wiper blades and fluid fill is not enough for being a safe motorist -- one may loose MVS privilege. It took items 14, 15, 16, 18 and 25 to restore the joy of extreme weather driving.

Our experience says that the Volvo transmission torque rod, aka transmission mount, is to be replaced after 100,000 miles. The loud clunk at a gear shift from P to R (or P to D) before rolling away is this failed mount -- not audible when AT shifts during a drive. Volvo PN 30793792. Bernoulli would love the drive -- just wow.

The XC90 cabin takes a lot longer to warm up than our 2001 V70XC. But it warms up really nice. Vents are clean except a small fuzz at the sensor window. A simple vacuum or is there more to clearing the sensor?

A pair of toothpick to loosen and gently pulling the fuzz away from the sensor wire, then using a handheld pet hair vacuum works best. A flash light can help you see deep inside the cleaned passage. Spring Ready!
