An instructor a few years ago taught me a good trick for non-racing seats: slide your seat back, tug the belt to lock it, and slide your seat forward so the belt presses you into the seat. Worked better than I expected in this car. I forgot to do it at the start of my second session and I was all over the cabin. The leather seats are like Teflon. My driving was much worse.
I do this when I’m on those nasty NJ highways at 75 in the slow lane, and can’t keep the safe 3 second follow due to 75 mph parallel parking. Being firmly back against the driver seat helps the air bag do it’s job.

I dodged 7 years of bad luck when I almost melted my wife's makeup mirror in the engine bay 😬

I suggest a Amazon next day delivery of a new makeup mirror before you return that one. Could avoid more than 7 years bad luck.

Performed an ATF drain and fill on the T5 today, giving me the opportunity to use my new funnel with a connector hose and measuring marks, which made it super easy.

While I had the car on ramps, I also decided to change the oil for the first time since I got the car and around 2,000 miles before the service sticker said it was time.

Good thing, too. The filter that was on there was a generic one that was smaller in diameter than the Mann filter I installed. Topped it off with Mobile1 high mileage.

I have one of those types of funnels too, they're perfect for transmissions. Makes it a bit cleaner and easier!

Ugh, I hate when people get those cheapo oil filters. Usually from those quick lube places. There was one on my '98 GLT when I bought it back, I will never understand why people think it's a good idea to skimp on oil filters when a high quality Mann filter costs all of $6.
