OK thanks, but I'm sure there is no issue with the strip. it clearly lights everytime, with fast response expected from led. It has a steady light with no flickering at all.

Anyone know what the resistance of the good bulbs should be?
Has anyone tested each bulb and noted the resistance they give?
Maybe I've got some duds even though I replaced them all... It seems these cars are extremely sensitive.

If you suspect it's a module, contact XeMODeX, link at top of this page (banner ad). They'll be able to help with that.

I don't know if this would help of if you've seen Volvo Bulb Guide It doesn't mention resistance, but does mention BA15s base bulbs.

If you know the wattage, which is usually on the package, you can calculate the resistance using

Ohms law and the power law

Wattage in watts = I x V = I^2 x R

And V = I x R

So a 24 watt bulb will be using 2 amps at 12 volts. The resistance of that bulb will 12 volts/ 2 amps = 6 Ohms

OK lovely I'll do some maths anyone have any shunt test methods as I have problems across the board I doubt any are failed but you never know 🤷‍♂️. Stranger things can happen.. Whilst on subject of rem are door lock modules routed through rem? Occasionally I get signal high on lock and pass door or o/s rear door lock and unlock immediately (linked to light issues?)

I think everything in the back tailgate and lights is REM. I don’t think doors are but will check on my 2005

On edit ...Alldata reports the doors have their own separate Door lock modules, so I don’t think the REM plays here.

REM controls both rear door locks, tail gate latch/lock, monitors tail gate open/closed switch, fuel door lock, rear wiper motor, license plate lights, brake lights rear parking lights, reverse lights, rear fog lights, rear window heater and there's probably something I'm missing. Do you notice any problems with anything else mentioned here?
Broken wires in the left hinge area can cause problems with the tailgate open message, tailgate lock, wiper motor, license plate lights, rear window heater, 3rd brake LED light.

I have no problems with any of the above anymore. I had broken cables in the boot hinge but have replaced the loom and rectified them... Found that months ago initially on my search for the bulb phantom 👻... Alas it didn't solve that issue

OK so... Today I hooked my icarsoft to dad's v70. When lights on live data shows a resistance line of (plucking a figure 0.75 went up to 0.78 when I tapped his rear light making the down bulb light (it was for exploratory purposes 😂)

Mine runs a flat line on all feeds for brake possition and rear fog lights.
Canbus failure?
I'm assuming all of those systems run their own comunication line to establish the level of resistance?

Group 1 being sidelights/position
Group2 ? Headlights? I'm not sure I'm not getting a warning on headlight or front fogs but I can't find a live data feed for these. (I expected that to be in the cem)
