Turbo engine compatibility

So a '95 turbo wagon showed up at my local junkyard. I'm thinking of snagging the engine to rebuild at my leisure for Sveedy. Looking online I see references to " Vin 51, 54, and 6th and 7th vin number. " Are there compatibility issues between a ' 95 and a '96 2.3L turbo engine that I need to be aware of ?

None whatsoever. You will likely want/need to keep your intake/ehaust manifold to keep all the emissions the same.

Engine codes: 51 = B5252S 2.5L Naturally Aspirated. 54 = B5244T5 2.4L Turbocharged.
If the engine codes between the 95 and your 96 are the same, they are the exact same engine.

You don't want to stick a turbo charger on a Naturally Aspirated. The compression ratio is too high for turbocharging, 8.5:1 for turbo vs 10.0:1 for NA.

Gosh, and I thought none of the 95 turbo wagons were NA, but I guess you never know. Better check the databases.
