Idle air control sys

Every couple of weeks or so I get a CEL PO505. Idle air control sys. I have switched out the idle air control unit and hoses but a week or two later the same code pops back up. Is there any more to the system than the unit, hoses, and vacuum tree ? The only issues I have with the idle is first thing in the morning the car will start right up but then immediately die. Turn the key and it starts back up again and idles fine. No other issues until it sits for a day or two. Then after a week or two I will get the CEL. I was thinking it might have something to do with the fact that I'm running a NA throttle body mod but the idle control unit is the same - NA or turbo.
Not a big issue or problem; just wondering... Is there something I'm missing ?

What year model and engine are we working with? Can you pull the Volvo specific codes to narrow down what is faulting ??

'96 Turbo 2.3 w/ whichever engine type came in those.

I don't have anything but a standard scanner.

I get the feeling this might be tinkeritus. All my vehicles come down with it eventually.

On bricks this guy chased P0505 for a while until he replaced the snorkel. Junkyard part perhaps!

After replacing the intake hose and elbow my engine idle smoothed out and the P0505 code hasn't popped up...yet. Must have had some pretty bad air leakage around the flame trap.

By the way, this is one of the codes that doesn’t set until you have driven a cycle, so don’t get too caught up in the delay being meaningful.

Is that the hose/elbow that is corrugated and runs from the air cleaner filter box ? And when you say " driven a cycle " what is that exactly ?
