Vacuum Hose on Manifold

While doing my PCV job, I appeared to have broke the vacuum hose that's in the attached image.

If I am not mistaken, this goes to the PTC nipple? I've read various post, including #7 of this viewtopic.php?t=63615.

I am not 100% sure how to read the Vacuum Hose Routing diagram to track this one down.

To replace this, can I use a 5/16 breather hose? Can I replace other broken/deteriorated hoses with 5/16 hoses also?

I believe you need to, or should, use oil resistant hose for the PCV system. I used 1/4" oil resistant hose for that. Make sure that you get that hose on tight before you install the manifold. I didn't and it popped off. No way to get to that clamp without removing the manifold. Again.

Where does this line go exactly? To the PTC? This line circled in yellow is what you used for 1/4"?

On a turbo it runs under the intake manifold then turns backwards and down to connect to the PTC nipple on the snorkel

^ What abscate said. And yes that's what I replaced with the 1/4". I think the stock line is hard plastic and about 3mm.

In reference to the more effective PCV method of using 5/8th tube, standard 5/8th tube is fine, correct? It does not need to be fuel or copper 5/8th.

I ask because maybe I misinterpreted what I read and I don’t want to do a PCV job for thousands of miles.

Seems like this comes up often and there are a few ways to go. Your just trying to get as much nonrestrictive flow as possible with something that will stand up to hot oil. I used 5/8" and 1/4" oil resistant hose. I believe that will last longer than heater hose. The two 90* turns are either made with brass fittings or by other non-conventional means, such as a spring inside the hose where it makes the 90* turn out of the oil trap box.

Was the 5/8” line used to run from the PCV oil trap to the PTV and the 1/4” line used to run from the passenger side of the intake manifold to the PTV?

^ Yes. When I did mine I used a small compression spring inside of the 5/8" hose where it makes a hard 90* bend coming out of the trap. Much like some radiator hoses. Then I used a electrical conduit sweep to make the 90* turn going under the throttle body area. That sweep was 1/2" and is really tight to fit into 5/8" hose but it did fit. I have a pic somewhere in this computer that I'll post for you.
