^ Seemingly yes. But without the alcohol that you get with say a Bloody Mary. A soup called Menudo is generally considered the ultimate hang-over cure but I just don't have the taste for it. Huevos Rancheros with chorizo does just fine by me. :D

It seems that in the south, Black-eyed peas are a New Years tradition.

But no matter what we eat - Happy New Year to all !! It's a low bar but this year has to be better than the last.
Try to learn life's bad lessons vicariously through others.

I was always told to eat Black Eyed Peas on New Years day for good luck in the new year.

Here in Colorado, it's Colorado beer (New Belgium, O'Dells, Breckenridge Brewery, Coors, etc.) and Mexican food. Colorado has a high Hispanic population for over 100 years, and they thankfully brought their cuisine with them.

I worked at one when I was 17. A co-worker had a 1979-ish Trans Am with the huge 454. Like the car from Smokey and the Bandit, but it was gold. Every night at around midnight he'd do a burn out when he got off his shift. I could hear it from my house a 1/2 mile away in the summer when my window was open.

That car is probably worth a nice sum today.

I had a white one with the big block 400 (6.6L). It would top out at 166 mph but the BB 400 was junk. You push it hard a few times and it would start coming apart.
