12V source for testing Haldex pump 30783079 Topic is solved

Zero life in the pump once I got it off the car, same as the test when it was on.

I have a new one coming though I was chicken to go with Dorman, shelled out for the Volvo one. I'll probably put a Dorman on our S60, it needs one too. But that's for like spring time - one prop shaft per quarter please!

You can't go wrong with the Volvo pump, I'll probably find myself wishing I had done the same at some point but so far so good. You may elect to try and clean and rebuild your old one, mine was mostly full of brush dust and oily goo, I thought I could clean up the armature and put some new brushes and bearings in it and keep it for a spare but then broke a plastic piece that I think holds the brushes so I threw it out. I suspect that the only cause of failure of it was being dirty and gummed up.

I was hoping to get at least a couple years out of the Dorman but it died this weekend! 6 months old. New Volvo one is on order and another filter and bottle of fluid.
