I know this topic is covered in some different threads here, but just wanted to share experience.
My Son and Daughter in law were quoted 400 LABOR ONLY to replace the only the rear brakes by local, trustworthy (Fair ) indie.
That was just labor, they already had pads and rotors on hand.
Don't have VIDA/DICE (yet) didn't want to spend 150 for a 39 dollar scanner plus one button. The torx screws mounting the motors to the calipers look they were sunk in the ocean last time they were changed. Used alligator clips and wire to a 12V, 5amp LED power supply, and it worked great to retract the actuators. Along with the required extensions to thread through the rear coils in order to loosen the caliper carrier bolts.
I am retired Air Force, and was able to use hobby facility with hoist, cost us 32 dollars for the 4 hours to do all four corners.
YES, RHP, I am in the process of setting up a VM laptop with VIDA to ensure full servicing of the vehicle going forward. This is my Grandson's limo after all!!
