I just brought home an automatic 2004 V40 with Turbo and I found that when I'm driving block-to-block in the city at between 5-30mph, there's a delay in changing gears, which is a little jerky. If I ease up just a little bit on the gas, the car shifts appropriately.
I've never owned/driven a turbo before - is that feeling a result of the Turbo? It's nothing harsh, just a different feeling from the Hondas and Toyotas I've been driving.
Thanks!

Should be smooth shifting at those speeds. How many miles are on it? Has the transmission fluid ever been changed? An '04 might still be under factory warranty, depending on the miles.

The car has 63,000 miles on it - the factory warranty was kaput at 50,000. The transmission fluid was the first thing I thought of, but I don't have all of the service records, unfortunately. An "expert" on another site said the shifting behavior is normal for these Volvos. Nevertheless, I think I'll check in with the dealer.
