My sunroof broke. I have bought a used one but noticed that it does not have the "rails" on the front and rear, but I can see where the might have been. I still have the rails from my original window. It seems that they were "glued" on with some adhesive, Maybe hot melt glue?? either way it is evident that they were not stuck well on the original (as only one chip of broken glass was still attached) or the replacement. My question is what is the proper alignment and what adhesive should I use? Are there any gotcha's that I need to be aware of. It seems that there were some small rubber pads in the hardened glue.) The roof was closed when it broke. Everything is in the same place as it was. In case you are wondering, The glide clips ($8.61 ea.) for the sun shade had jammed into the tracks and bellows and where preventing the shade from opening properly. And since sunroofs are important to teenage daughters, I was trying to fix it. I had removed the glass and extracted the bent clips, and was replacing the glass. As I was leveling it with my thumb, measuring the 1mm dip on the front edge, it shattered. I then proceed to get the vacuum cleaner and my check book out!
Thanks in advance.
