Emergency open and close manually convertible TOP

Post by tango_1000 »

I need some help with my C70 2004 soft top.
I think I have some electrical problems with it. Of course it was working great until one day i did something wrong in the closing , pressing the switch up and down repetitively (and probably hysterically) and the top stop working. I was able to close it manually with the emergency system in the trunk.
I did everything as the instructions ask. I have the car stop for a couple of months now, the battery is dry, i was HOPING there were some codes in the computer that stop the convertible to work and maybe they will disappear or erase if no battery was present.
My question is if someone know what is the INITIAL POSITION of the emergency system.

There is 2 holes, should they go all the way clockwise or counterclockwise

Thanks to everyone.

Was there an answer for this, I am trying to manually open roof to eliminate a blockage that retails water in the roof compartment.
Also there is a motor in the cabin near rear view mirror. This has an an 'allan' key manual over-ride.
I presume this locks the roof to the front windscreen frame.
I turn it several times in either director and nothing happens.
What is the sign it is unlocked so that I can safely go to the two lever sockets in the boot to continue opening the roof.
Also in the boot, which lever do you turn first (clockwise or ant-clockwise) to open the roof in the first instance.
