I buy head gasket and spark plug tube seals from Volvo. Then Corteco on the cam seals. On the exhaust manifold gasket you can get the one-piece gasket very cheap in Volvo brand so I'd go that way rather than the 5 individual pieces. Intake manifold gasket doesn't matter too much what you get.

If the Victor Reinz is good quality that set is maybe a good option too.

Goetze is also a good quality aftermarket brand for headgasket.
It is a Federal Mogul division.

Went Volvo on both stems and head gaskets. It’s an incremental $25 on price and that’s a no brainer on a 12 hour job

Additional job creep on list

Power steering rack, have ordered from Detroit axle
Replace lousy hose clamps on oil cooler lines
Replace cheap clamps on induction path, especially the one on the lower intercooler which snags my belly every time I roll underneath
Turbo control hoses still original, evaluate
Change MT fluid, 100k
Replace rusty clutch slave line
Rebuild starter...already at auto electric shop

Well done, keep it up. From what I understand the valve stem seals are made by Volvo, not sure about the headgasket but both are long lasting so it was wise to stick with Volvo.

With the amount of disassembly, it only makes sense to use Volvo valve stem seals. Hope the weather cooperates for you to get the job done! I'm a big baby about the cold now, it was around 40 today and I couldn't stand it (granted it was raining too...). I've lived in the south too long, my northern blood warmed up .
