I really want to find one once I wrap up some of the several projects I have currently. I almost traded my 740 turbo for a W123 300d a few years ago, but it wasn't really going to make me any money since I wanted to play with it for a while lol.
W123 series are considered maybe the best Mercedes ever built. These included the four and 5 cylinder diesel engines. There were also gas engines.

Theres a W123 300D for sale near me....for $1500 bucks. In typical W123 fashion, it currently resembles a seive and somehow gets worse mpg whilst being twice as slow as the T5, yikes! I absolutely love their aesthetic though, and would happily have one. Perfect candidate for an engine swap, really.

They are pretty much the Mercedes equivalent to the Volvo 240 in my book.

The one I wish I never sold-a big wobbly 5.0 v8 2 door coupe. IMO Best looking grill - maybe why they are now going back to the big sign on the grill.
About as fast as the VR6 behind it and oddly both about as quick off the mark as the 10v s70. The SLC did sound the best though, but the rear tyres kept wearing out

I'll be replacing my CBV diaphragm when the weather clears up this week. Any tips for getting at the bottom 10mm bolt? Top two look tight but accessible with the intercooler pipe + coupler and heatshield removed.

I got to it from under the car. When it comes to installing the new one, I found the easiest way was to start with that same bottom bolt but leave it loose so that the unit can pivot on it. Then with a piece of vacuum hose attached to the unit, you can move it around with one hand while ( whilst ?) starting the other bolt with your other hand. Much easier than laying across the motor and trying to get both hands down in there.
Try to learn life's bad lessons vicariously through others.
