hello,
new head job, need to set the timing. are there any markings on the engine that can guide me on how to adjust .

The timing marks should have been aligned before removing the timing belt. If that has not been done you will need to get the N0. 1 piston at TDC before proceeding further.

If you did align the timing marks before starting and they have not been moved all you need to do is ensure the valves are closed on No. 1 cylinder.

thanks matt. correct me if i'm wrong,dose the timing belt and the sprockets have marks that have to match up .

The timing belt does not have marks that match up with the sprockets. just make sure the teeth sit well into the grooves.

If you are re-using the belt you took off you should have marked it for direction of travel as it may snap if it goes the other way.
