Steering on my 2004 Volvo C-70

Post by lrship »

I have a 2004 Volvo C-70 HT A CV with 2.3 Liter Turbocharged manufactured in Sweden. There is only 12,ooo miles on the car. My complaint is hard steering. It has been this way since new. When parking or like making a 3 point turn around, it seems like you have no power steering. At normal highway speeds it feels fine. I have had all scheduled maintenance and complained to Volvo dealer about the steering. The service manager says they find nothing wrong and all C-70's are this way. I love this car except for this hard steering at slow speeds. I just wouldn't expect to find a modern auto with power steering to be this hard to steer. Thanks for any input.

Ask to drive another C70 on their lot and compare the steering with yours. I have no idea if this is normal or not, but you should be able to tell after a test run.

I have a 2000 model of the same car. It is hard to steer at low speeds, and often grinds or rubs when turned all the way to right or left. I think it's a matter of the very wide tires on it. I've had it checked and the dealer says it doesn't have any problems.
