P80 source for fuel pump fittings needed

Post by abscate »

I have to Fab Four fittings for my AWD

Does anyone have a SKU FOR a third party fitting that I can connect to the fuel pumps?

Can you use a copper elbow (plumbing stuff) and hose + clamps?

I’m hoping there is a bayonet type that duplicates the factory type

I haven't had the pleasure of working on mine yet so I'm not familiar with that fitting. (really hope I'm not cursing myself)
But ford used something similar but not exactly like that for their fuel systems.
I believe they just slide on and than requires the disconnect tool to remove them. Not sure how well it would hold up to the pressure because I'm only familiar with the one on my truck and it's a low PSI.(carb'd)

+1 on the Ford fittings, my old Super Duty had stuff that looks suspiciously similar. While I found a complete set of lines from a donor - 2 tanks !...2 pumps ! ...diabolical selector controller ! - I think this is the Dorman line-end fix .

Haven't had the pleasure of laying hands on the fuel pumps from any of the Volvo fleet.

Same idea, another Ford application

Couldn't find the old fuel lines off the Super Duty, but here's a leftover filter

Update.

We got the rear axle back in to the S70 AWD but the straight fittings I used won’t work. There is a lot of tension in the hose at the body

I’ve ordered some 90 degree bend ones and I can replace with out the axle drop by just easing the torque tube and torsion bars down , then dropping the tank 3-4 inches

Dorman 800-783 is the right angle , 5/16 metal fittings for the AWD fuel pump

The AWD fuel pump on the 1999 S70 has a locking flange on the fuel pump outlet that the 1998 FWD pump does not. I dont know if this is a FWD / AWD difference or a 1998 1999- difference.

I used the same fittings on the fuel pump fix on the 1999 and had to secure the fuel line on the fuel filter as it also has no locking flange.

Interesting - that fuel filter has the locking collar which will take that Dorman bayonet clamp perfectly

The stock fuel fllters dont have that and use a tensioning spring in the filter hose.

Executive summary on P80 fuel fittings

All these fittings seal with double rings inside the fitting, nit serviceable. A bit of oil on assembly will help stop the oring from rolling

The straight pipe are held with a stiff internal four pronged spring that retractswhrn you slide the collar away from the end, or apply pressure the the plastic release ring with a hooked tool or pick. I fought getting one of the AWDfor two hours.

Some fuel filters, and theAWD fuel fittings on both main pump and the ejector pump, havealocking ridge which nicely takes the bayonet replacement above. They make a nice click when they correctly seat.

I used a bayonet type as a fix on my T5 fuel filter , and rigged A zip-tie to hold it onto the straight, no collar style fuel filter pipe
