That version is 21 meg because the pictures are uncompressed. I've attached a version with compressed images that's under 1 meg which I had downloaded in 8/2018. Looks identical.

I have also attached:
The AC clutch fix PDF by Nathan Bryant
The AC refrigerant recharge thread by pfeener (which I thought was worth making into a PDF)

I also have the "AC evaporator replacement book" PDF written by CLC, both a 2008 and 2017 version. It clearly says "not to be re-hosted... without the consent of the author" at the bottom of each page so I won't upload it here. I would post the author's email address (also at the bottom of each page) but I'd hate for them to get spam. Did I get it from this thread?

Here are some other links from my notes. I haven't checked these in years:
"Step one: what is the refrigerant pressure in the system? Step two, what is the clutch gap?"
Video re: cycling, etc
Video re: clutch gap
Pic of temp cut off switch on compressor which can be jumped
The compressor bread clip fix
Measuring the clutch gap on a 2000 S/V70
"Never replace an a/c clutch only, the compressor will fail shortly after."
850 condenser and evaporator replacement
List of info links for condenser/evaporator work.
Good 2019 A/C thread

Can you tell that my A/C is dead and I've been preparing to fix it? I did this research and bought the parts for my old blue V70 but it got totaled before I did the work. Good thing I got a green V70 with the same problem.

Thanks FF31! I swapped yours in place of the 20+MB version. https://s3.amazonaws.com/images.matthewsvolvosite.com/vo ... torial.pdf

There's some server-side caching happening, so I don't know when it'll make the new version available at that URL. So although the switch is global and permanent, it'll serve up the large one for some time.

Crap. I missed that. We used to ding our students for not scaling their pictures to fit the resolution of their microscopes.

Hmmm. That file is twice the size of my very first hard drive installed in an IBM XT PC. That screaming 8086 chip and it’s 16 bits
