Unfortunately, the GLT did not have a turbo until '97 so there is very little you can do to gain more umph out of your car. Some things people have done is to just get the maintenance on the car up to the best it can be. Make sure all vacuum lines are sealed good and tight and not broken (if they are, replace them), use good plugs and wires and change the oil regularly and make sure all engine/transmission mounts are good. After this you could try to open up the air intake a bit or drop in a K&N air filter. Some people spend thousands on a cold air intake and different exhaust but really only gain about 5 horse power. If you want a car that will boost and go faster, your best bet is to sell your present car and buy one that has a turbo.

That said, your car is basically the same as a non-turbo 70 series Volvo, so read this: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/chat/p ... hp?t=14588

There is also a good performance site that has parts for the 850. Check out volvomotorsports.com. If still nothing they sell built performance motors.
