That one has been returned. It did not get everything I paid for. If I decide to get another I will use the above to set it up.

Right now I waiting to see how some things play out on some Hantek hardware. May end up with a Hantek HT6022BE as a compact replacement for my boat anchor Analog scope and something else for a logic analyzer. Or a Hantek HT6022BL which is both scope and logic analyzer but not at the same time. Still weighing pros, cons and options.

I got an older Lenovo portable work station with a 2.8 GHz Quad-Core i7, 16Gb of ram, touchscreen 1080 resolution, and a SSD that hates Windows 10. I might dust it off and install one of the Linux distros. Move some of the stuff of this Dell Latitude E7440 with Windows 10.

Interesting. I have a Rigol DS2072A, all features unlocked, which I love and hate at the same time. PC-based software is what I miss some times.

:-o "Older?"... I'm happy with 6 y.o. Core M 5Y10 + 8GB laptop, which still runs Linux like new =)

I don't need any laptop, old or new, to hate Windows =)

Lenovo Thinkpad W510, Its eleven years old.

Officially the ram is maxed out. Unofficially the hardware will address 32GB of ram ( 4 X 8GB ).
No official Windows 10 drivers for the graphic or the motherboard. I had it up and running Windows 10 with the Windows 7 drivers. Sometimes it flew like an eagle. Other times it would throw a massive interrupt fit and slow to the speed of room temperature Molasses. Never was able to track down the source of the fits. With each new Windows version things got worst.

Ubuntu is the distro I played with the most, but that was a while ago.
Anybody have any insight on Pop!_OS and MX Linux ?

Stick with Ubuntu (mainly because of community support).

I need to locate connector B on P1 CEM. VIDA has signal descriptions, however B physically appears like 2 others. Looking for 32 pin connector that has diagnostic port CANs. Is it COCKPIT-2, FLOOR-2 or FRONT-2?

Here you go, and the color of the plastic connector 8) (For P1 cars)

A=COCKPIT1 (BLUE)
B=COCKPIT2 (BLUE)
C=FLOOR1 (GREEN)
D=ROOF1 (BLACK)
E=FRONT1 (GREEN9)
F=FLOOR2 (ORANGE)
G=FRONT2 (ORANGE)
H=ROOF2 (GREY)

Are you planning to interface via the diagnostic-canbus lines on the CEM (pins 11,12,15,16) without any other can-devices attached? When I tried to do this I never got it to work when no other canbus nodes where connected to the network, instead I had to hook up my canbus-shield to any of the other "real" canbus lines on the CEM and add 120 ohm termination.

Yes, same on P2. You have about 20 ms to send the "prog mode on" message =)
