There is a heater hose attached right around that area, on the side of the head. Feel around and see if it's wet. I'm betting it's leaking right where it attaches to the fitting.

If a heater hose is leaking, it is tempting to tighten down hard on the hose clamp. However, better long term results are likely if you drain some coolant below the hose level, remove the hose, clean the likely corrosion on the hose barb, cut off the end of the hose were it was clamped (assuming hose is long enough), install hose, and clamp. Carefully refill coolant to proper level.

Don’t put any of that stop leak crap in. It’s painful, but you have to fix these things the hard way

The hose is pretty easy to replace, but you need to be very careful removing it from the firewall coupler. It's plastic, and odds are it will break. I would recommend replacing both hoses, as well as the coupler. Or you can replace it with regular heater hoses and avoid having to deal with the plastic coupler again.

No bmdubya, not that one hun, I did my heater core a couple years ago, and they are impossible noto break if they are old. And I had the iron heater core pipes, went to my education class ie junkyard😊 found the aluminum ones and found out how to uninstall and reverse. Oh let me just say that coupler at the fire wall was a B to get in.
No right where that puddle is directly above there is a short hose it looks corroded. What's that hose, can you may not see it in the pic. I thought that was the one you were referring too. What do you think, will you need another pic? I'll try. Thanks so much man...

If you don’t have a turbo there are only three hoses there

A fat one to the radiator..skinny wrist size
Two small ones to the heater ...three finger diameter

The turbo has extra two for turbo coolant which are small, one finger thickness
