I have just acquired a '03 S60 and have a few things to check. Would anyone have an electronic service manual (pdf). I have looked but can't seem to find it anywhere on the web!

You won't find one. Your best bet it so buy a copy of VADIS on eBAy. Make sure you get the activation key with it.
