What an Easter!
Driving to my sister's house, all of a sudden my engine sounds really loud. I look in my rear view mirror, and I see my muffler and exhaust pipe sitting in the road. Sure made for a loud and long drive. But that's easy, I'll take it to a local muffler shop, throw down a hundred bucks, and it's solved.
Then, on my way home, in the pouring rain, the passenger side wiper goes all the way to the left, jacking up the driver side window wiper, and now they won't wipe at all. Is there any simple way to fix the wiper issue? When I turn it on, I hear the motor trying to run and clicking, but the wipers themselves don't move...maybe they're not connected anymore with the motors? Please god tell me it's not the motors themselves!!!

Check under the dash, passenger side with the sound isolation removed. It may be that the nut holding the arms has fallen off. If the motor still runs chances there is something under the dash that can be fixed. You will have to look up. Turn the wipers on and you may be able to see what is happening.

Alright, I pulled it down and looked up, and there was a box with a bunch of wires obscuring most of my view, but I did see some wires and a silver colored thing that they were attached to (maybe cables is a better word), and it was kind of hanging. I managed to touch it, and it fell out. Looks to me like these cables wrap around the top and bottom grooved sections (one larger than the other), and that this piece should be bolted or screwed on to another piece that maybe moves it back and forth. Does that sound about right, or am I way off base?
I'm going to borrow some tools and move the box with wires that it making it difficult to see what's going on, and hopefully I don't cause further damage.
Got the exhaust fixed, though. Turns out I also managed to misplace my cat...not as cheap as I was hoping to fix, but it's done and now the beast is quiet!

Oi! Well, after taking out the glove box and fiddling around, not only could I not get the pully thing onto the wiper part that comes inside, my hands are just too damn big to fit up in there to get the cables wrapped around it (and I'm sure as heck not going to start removing other parts...lord knows I'd probably just make the problem worse). Looks like I'll have to take it in, hopefully it won't be too much...Daisywagon quoted fixing my passenger door (it doesn't open from the outside) at less than $100, so I can imagine that this can't be more...seems a bit easier
