Autel code reader wouldn't accept 13 digit VIN

I replaced my ABS module using the Midwest ABS service , thinking it might have been bad, but the ABS codes persisted.
It's possible my mechanic didn't follow the directions of holding down the connector for five seconds after reseating it; I will try reseating after using contact cleaner. But I bet the ABS/TRAC lights will still indicate an issue.

I bought an Autel OBI-2 code reader on Amazon, and product support assisted me with loading the Volvo profile. However, the tool expects the standard 17 digit VIN and my 13 digit VIN didn't work. Next, I called IPD to ask if their code reader could read ABS codes and he said no, but suggested a package called VOL-SVR. I couldn't find that, but I did find an Android App "850-OBI-II" on the Google Play store:
This app is mainly for Volvos from years 1996-98 to use with ELM327 bluetooth/Wifi/USB dongle to diagnose, read and even program little bit. Support of models: 850/900 series and (weakly) S40/V40, C70/S70/V70/XC70, S90/V90

Apparently it can read ABS codes, but they only mention the ABS pump I should do what the IPD tech said and go to a dealer so I get the full report. Will report back on what I find.

OBDII Code reader on a car built before 1980? Something does not add up.

The 17-digit VIN has been used since 1980 to identify the make, manufacturer, model year and package information.

VOL-FCR not VOL-SVR. Old, no longer in development and outrageously expensive for what it is.

We know what 850-OBDII is, the author is a MVS member. 850-OBDII is just as good or better then VOL-FCR.

My Foxwell scanner would not accept it either, but the 'VIN detect' function works and it would find the VIN by itself

I was mistaken about my 13 digit VIN number; that was on the dash. The VIN number on the driver door sticker is 17 digits;
when I entered it, the Autel code reader still said invalid VIN, even though Volvo had been installed as the vehicle profile. I raised an issue with Autel customer support, and here's their response:

I had an autel reader, it cost $240, it was ok but vida was so much better that I sold the autel to a kid I worked with.

Go with vida, its available on thumb drive.
V2GO external drive , good if you already have a laptop $100.
You also need the dice unit.
