Man, that looks so clean compared to what I removed from my car! Looks like a lot of that may be able to be re-cycled.
Things like fuel pipes, sub-frame, carbon tank and its brackets as well as most of the rest. Great advantage of southern cars

Everything is in awesome shape! Even all the bushings are really nice, I'm honestly surprised. I know for sure there's a local guy who wants the whole setup, these are extremely valuable to have for spare parts.

There has been this week multiple Volvos catalysators stolen including neighbours V40 got hit.
When i returned home to eat from work (two days later i got to hear stolen cats) i noticed this middle of my parking slot.
I WAS IN RAGE checking at rear under of car like idiot where is my cat!
Then after slight cool down later i checked it is still there at the front without this heat shield
My explanation is that here was storm winds going last evening of this so maybe it just let go finally..
----
Bad news for my gearbox as it has started on cold hesitate / jiggle when going in gear (reverse or first from stand point) randomly.
For positive side on things then i put a note i should make gearbox testing in app more convenient not to wait establish connection each time when wanna toggle solenoids to test them individually.

First of all here is better more mechanics kinda of people to give opinion still as i am more nerd kinda and vigilante. Just some start here.
Well when these three contacts in picture bottom are same you are good to go. And you haven't turned at all the bottom crankshaft by any turn so you have correct cylinder order going on there.
After putting it back to correct and pulling the pin do manually couple revolutions for the motor to check to confirm nothing will hit each other and it will turn.. if it hits something you hear metal clonk sound. Manual says to give some press force on top and left side but i didn't myself do so (i wasn't aware of this instruction).
Then finally second time look timing marks are still correct after manual turns.
Those pullies are yes variable some degree.. they instruct you to aim for center and it seems slightly off. As you put it i don't know why has put like that. Quickly looking they told to lock those bolts of camshafts to 20Nm. But i give warning that maybe wait some mechanic here to claim better or confirm my writing.

You can easily recover from this situation. and Be sure to Rotate the crank 2 times around by hand to be sure you are back in time. Robert DIY has other timing vids too.

Planned to get the front rotors and pads swapped out. Didn't expect much issue as I had the calipers and pads off last week. I was really disappointed to find all the work I put in trying to rust proof the front suspension and in particular the knuckle seems to be for nought. I cleaned everything carefully and degreased and prepped the metal before painting with Por-15 about 4 years ago.
The car has maybe done 5000km at most in that time and not much in the winter. Literally all the paint was flaking off down to the metal. Truly un-impressed with the 'Best product in the World' (their claim, but not sure what world they live in).
I had spent ages cleaning and painting the dust shields as well and they are rotten again with the paint mostly peeled off. I have ordered new OE parts from a Volvo dealer in Toronto. They are cheaper than IPD and FCP Euro (who did not seem to have an option for the larger 300mm rotors).
Local dealer wanted $130 + tax each. Toronto dealer $92 each + Free shipping + Tax. IPD was $98 CDN equivalent + shipping + taxes + handling.
Good to know we can sometimes get the parts cheaper OE in Canada!!
Now started the prep on the FR knuckle and parts. Ready for paint tomorrow, the onto the other side. Looking forward to a week of 30-36C weather (not!!).
Neil.

it can even be applied on things with a little flash rust . All the Olde Timers on the Studebaker forum love it. Got mine at the local Ace Hardware, during their final closing sale.
