Hey guys, I have a major issue with my AC from Volvo V70 2005, I can't adjust the direct of the air and of the driver side it's hot air, very...hot air and the passenger side it's cold aid.
From what I have read I must remove the dash bord but I didn't find any company that it's willing to do that for me (I live in Romania, last 2 days 40 degrees Celsius /104 F) so I must do it myself.
What should I do after i remove the dash bord because I don't have any clue what is what and what is where, where I can find schematics for the AC layout in order to know what and how to change.
Thank you

Watch this video by a forum member here, hot and cold on different sides can be caused by thermister failure.Crash21 wrote: ↑27 Jun 2021, 06:05 Hey guys, I have a major issue with my AC from Volvo V70 2005, I can't adjust the direct of the air and of the driver side it's hot air, very...hot air and the passenger side it's cold aid.

If so, then you only need to pull the center section, its located beneath your stereo.
Be sure to disconnect battery following proper proceedure he talks about in the video.

Agreed. Sounds electrical. Very easy to pull climate control unit. Lots of vids on youtube. Wouldnt hurt to check your cabin air filter as well. They get clogged and can mess up the heater core, a\c condenser under the dash. Usually and easy to access panel under the passenger dash side.

Hey guys, thanks for the help.
Let me give you more information about this issue, I bought the car with the air direction for legs not working, everything else being OK.
Before i had the chance to fix this issue I changed the battery without putting the key in position 2 and then everything died
.
I run a VIDA diagnostic at a local car service and they told me that the entire HVAC system it's messed up and the calibration failed and I have to remove the dashbord in order to check which motor it's busted.
I had a drive on the motorway, +200km/h (125mph) and a Engine Service Required appear for a brief moment, I was using the AC at full/ lowest temp meanwhile on the driver side the entire dashbord was...hot especially in the back of CCM ( driver sider air set on face direction and the ventilation door closed because it's throwing very hot air.
Cabin air filter is removed.
I will try to find another CCM, same code as mine, replace mine and give it a try.
Thank you very much.

All blend door actuators (this is how they are called) can be replaced without removing the dash. One is on the driver side, the rest is on the passenger. To access the passenger side you simply remove the glove compartment - unscrew everything around it. Driver side is painful. Look for videos how to replace a heater core, the actuator is located even higher. You will need long pliers and a small 1/4" torx ratchet.
Replacement part is Behr 8623354, or find a used one. Usually the driver side (hot/cold mix) gives up first.
Oh, also seat heater module is located on the same LIN bus, it fails sometimes and disrupts communication with the rest of modules on this LIN bus. Unplug it first and check if the climate is working.
You may need to run identification of LIN bus modules and do a calibration. If you do the identification with the bus malfunction - the climate will not work properly until you fix everything and rerun the identification.
If you decide to remove the whole dash, plan to do a lot of extra work along the way, like replacing the blower motor, its resistor, all the foam gaskets, cleaning A/C evaporator, etc, just because you will have a good access to everything.

As you can see I already remove the glovebox and I have acces to all blend door actuators ( none of them work )but on the driver side, like you said, it's painful, so I'm willing to remove everything in order to have better acces and also do a little maintenance.
If i can't find the problem then...I will transform it from double climatronic to single climatronic
)
Thank you very much

As suggested above, measure first the thermistor. I know it doesn't make logic to affect the vent direction, but that's what happens when this thermistor goes bad, the CCM gets confused and acts in many ways, with one side hot another cold, no air on some direction and so on. Look up on Yt on Peppermint channel, shows how to disassemble the CCM and for the thermistor, there was someone selling them on Ebay (may be in a link in the comments sect). The thermistor is a 10k at about 25C, if you blow on it the resistance will change. Once you make sure it works, then may look at the motors on the right side, there is a video with sound when these are activated and another video showing how to remove the motors with a T25 bit and an adjustable pliers

hello, my new v70 2011 have no air entering on habitacle, even using fan. i suppose blend doors actuators are out off order. Some of them i suppose. this is the same configuration on the V70 II and III version?

No, completely different platforms. P2 - pure blood Volvo (spoiled by minor Ford parts in the last few years of production), P3 - Ford EUCD.
If you have DiCE/VIDA, you can read the codes and even run CCM diagnostics. It will tell you what is broken.
Ok, thank's. i find the problem, servo of door actuators in ventilation.
