test check valve

Post by tommylg »

1998 S70 Glt.
I have had a 410 code a few times and have done resets w/a scanner.
Now it is time to figure out the issue.
Fisrt thing is to test the check valve. I belive it is a one way valve. How do I do that and is it located near the radiator?

Additionally, here is an image of my Prancing Moose sunscreen, courtesy of Dave Barton, kinda cool.

Thanks and have a great day,
Tommy

Once you locate the check valve, use the handy vacuum tester and assorted hose adapters to try to hold vacuum both ways. One side should hold steady vacuum for several minutes and the other side should have no flow restriction.

With the air filter housing up I can almost stop the motor - what does this mean?
Thanks, go Vandy, ha.

So, I found that the 90* hose is degraded.
What size is this elbow and I really need an answer to my original post, if you please.

90* hose coming off the sas check valve replaced.
I will run a scan in the am.
The air sucking under the air filter housing - that almost kills the motor - means I have zero vacumn leaks.
