Hello All,
I recently just got done completing my PNP switch replacement on my 2000 Volvo V40 Wagon, 1.9L Turbo, non-diesel motor. As I understand it, the 2000 V40 tended to be the red-headed step child in the sense that the transmission was the 4 speed and required a different PNP switch and transmission fluid, versus the 2001-04 V40's that are 5 speed transmissions with a different PNP switch and required different transmission fluid. I think this might be the same issue.
During the PNP switch replacement I had to remove the air box assembly, battery and battery tray. When I removed the lower air box assembly I also had to remove a rubber hose that I assume took in cold air from the side finder, I guess a "poor" cold air intake if you may. As you can see from the image below, the ONCE rubber hose is completely shot. It was so brittle that I had to be very careful when touching it.
I figured I would order a new hose and that would be that. I looked in VIDA and it looks like it's part # 30859442. I was looking around online and I think one of two things is going on. The part # has been discontinued or the part # has been changed.
Below is what I found from looking online but I'm not sure what I need to order. I will also post images of what VIDA said when I went into the parts look up. I think in V40 2001 the configuration was a little bit different and that's why I'm being thrown off.
Any help would be appreciated. I'm trying to avoid bringing the car to the dealership for this minor thing.
Thanks in advance!
What I found online, maybe the new part # is now 30850110 but my copy of VIDA hasn't been updated and that's why? Maybe they replace the hose with plastic now because of the issue I experienced?

CH = Chassis. The Chassis number is the last six digits of your VIN number.

Thanks! I never knew what that meant in VIDA, but now I do. I checked VIDA and my last six #'s Chassis number are 428777.
Based on my chassis number I don't think those parts are for my vehicle?
If you go to this link https://www.myvolvoparts.com/oem-parts/ ... dhcw%3D%3D
You'll see it says that the part # in question has been discontinued and to use these two other part numbers, 30620749 AND 30850110. I might go ahead and order them and see what happens. What do you think?

They are $50.00 parts at a dealer. I would go get a good one out of a self service salvage yard, pay less then $10.00 and be done with it.VolvoFredNY wrote: ↑19 Jul 2021, 17:49 You'll see it says that the part # in question has been discontinued and to use these two other part numbers, 30620749 AND 30850110. That goes without saying. I will report back once I locate these two parts and have them installed so it can help someone else in the future.RickHaleParker wrote: ↑19 Jul 2021, 19:43They are $50.00 parts at a dealer.
