brake pedal "feel" - 2001 V70 T5 144k miles
I have had my T5 manual for a month and there have been the usual things one has to get used to with a new/different car. But I am having a lot of trouble getting used to the "grabby" brakes. The slightest pedal pressure gives me way more braking power than I want and it is sort of self-actuating like crappy drum brakes. Since there is sometimes a slight grinding/rasping sound when I apply the brakes (and there doesn't appear to be a wear sensor!) I assumed I was metal-on-metal and pulled the wheels off to do a brake job. The pads were less than half worn and the rotors were great. Does anyone else think their brakes are a bit touchy? Maybe I have a power assist issue? Has anyone had a V70 long enough to have experimented with different pad brands and could tell the difference in pedal feel?

01's had THE WORST brakes. Very sensitive but they should not be "grinding"
