Clutch pedal feel unsmooth or rough

Hi all,

I have an '96 850R with the factory M59. Lately, i noticed that pressing on the clutch pedal will start feeling rough after 20-30 minutes from a cold start. The feeling is like something is rubbing. Despite this, shifting gears is fine and there's no difficulty getting into any gear. And sometimes there is a clunk when depressing the pedal.

The R clutch was replaced years ago and is around 25K kms (I hardly drive this car). It certainly is not slipping. ATF was replaced about 8K kms ago with Redline MTL.

Any ideas what this could be?

OK, a Volvo indie test drove the car and he thinks it's the throw-out bearing that wasn't greased properly when I had the engine and tranny out 5 years ago.

Have to do the job again and might as well replace the clutch and pressure plate. Are there any good/cheaper R clutch kits aside from the OEM ones? I see Sach and Valeo kits in IPD but it says they are for non-turbo.

Not sure about the clutch plates, but I was going to say the clutch/throw out bearing or shaft might need lubed. Grease will dry out even when not used unfortunately.
