01 T5 V70 timming belt interval?

Post by jschickv70 »

I just picked up a 01 t5 v70 WITH 105K ON IT. what is the timing belt interval and is thier any way to tell if it has likely been changed? I assume this is a interference engine???

also anything else to look for on the T5? how about the tranny?

It is an interference engine and the interval is every 105K miles...so you're right at the miles it should be replaced. With every change you should change the tensioner and with every other change the water pump. Check the serpentine belt too (service belt). If it looks cracked (even if they're small cracks) you should change it now as well. Usually if the TB has been changed there would be a sticker on the side of the cover or on the ECU cover. If not then check the service records or the place that you bought it...doubtful it was changed if there's no indication it was changed already- may be one reason it was for sale now.
