Hate to ask this after just spending over $700 to install a new alternator and belt and another $150 for a battery but lately when I turn the key, there are times when it seemingly takes several cranks, (like 7 times) before it turns over.
Is this a sign of a failing starter motor?

Hey Crism;
The former, "the starter cranks the engine over 7 times before it fires up".
maybe something else huh?

Try turning the key on and off to Position I ignition only three or four times just before cranking the starter and see if the extra pump priming get it to fire quicker. If so then maybe others can advise on any check valve stuff.
